Point Five Home Improvements: A Family Legacy Reborn
Originally established in Norwich in January 1973, Point Five Aluminium Windows and Doors quickly gained a reputation for quality and reliability. During the late 1970s, the company rebranded as Point Five Windows and Doors, reflecting the growing popularity of UPVC products, which became the preferred choice for homeowners.
In June 1982, our father joined the company as a director, helping to oversee a period of significant growth. Point Five expanded across East Anglia, opening new branches and becoming a trusted name in the industry. However, as the market evolved and larger national companies began to dominate, smaller family-run businesses faced increasing challenges. The recession of 1991 further compounded these difficulties, and sadly, in 1993, Point Five made the difficult decision to close its doors.
In recent years, market trends have shifted once again. With large national chains struggling under substantial overheads and declining customer satisfaction, more homeowners are choosing local, family-run companies that offer a personalised service and a commitment to excellence.
Recognising this shift, we are proud to announce the resurrection of Point Five Home Improvements in 2024. Led by Mike’s sons, Simon and Ryan, alongside their business partners Andy and Berfin, the company builds on over 85 years of combined experience in the window and door industry. Our mission is to deliver a customer-focused, family-oriented experience, helping homeowners enhance their properties with care and expertise.
Based in Dereham, we proudly serve Norfolk and North Suffolk, offering an extensive range of UPVC products, including windows, doors, fascias, guttering, and composite doors.
